Escalante Natural Bridge

Escalante Natural Bridge is a massive sandstone arch, approximately 130 feet high and 125 feet wide, carved by water erosion over thousands of years. It spans across a small side canyon draining into the Escalante River.
Unlike arches formed by wind, natural bridges like this one are shaped by flowing water, which distinguishes its formation. It’s set against vibrant Navajo sandstone cliffs and a lush riparian environment with cottonwoods and willows, creating a dramatic contrast of red rock and greenery. Photo © copyright by Ammon Jeffs.
